| dc.description | Botswana has made strides in promoting gender equality, with notable achievements in education, family planning, and female entrepreneurship. However, persistent challenges remain, including high rates of gender-based violence, maternal mortality, and underrepresentation of women in politics and the formal economy. This report provides a high-level assessment of gender gaps across human capital, economic inclusion, and voice and agency. It offers five strategic priorities to guide future action, including enhancing women’s political participation, reducing GBV, supporting adolescent girls, and closing labor market gaps. The findings aim to inform stakeholders in shaping inclusive policies and advancing gender equality nationwide. | |
