The Environmental and Social Management Framework (ESMF) for the FAO-led GCF funding proposal, Scaling Up Resilience in Africa’s Great Green Wall (SURAGGWA), serves to address programme activities that may present environmental, social, and climate risks. By screening these activities against FAO’s Framework for Environmental and Social Management (FESM) and the Green Climate Fund’s Environmental & Social Standards (ESS), the ESMF ensures comprehensive risk management.
