dc.descriptionFor FAO, improvement of collection, production, dissemination and use of statistics on agriculture and rural development, disaggregated by gendersex, and reflecting the key gender issues, is one of the main challenges in implementing the strategic commitments. An example of ongoing work in the region - the project Capacity Building for Production and Analysis of Gender Statistics in the Framework of the FAO Approach to Agricultural Statistics, implemented in three countries: Kyrgyzstan, Tajikist an and Turkey, from 2013 to May 31, 2016. The project as a result of "round tables" and workshops held at the national level produced the methodical materials on indicators enabling to analyze agricultural households from a gender perspective. Based on the project results, FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia organized, in close cooperation with the Committee on Statistics of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a regional workshop as large and representati ve international event, with the participation of experts from Eastern Europe, South Caucasus and Central Asia, in order to disseminate the experience gained in all the countries of the region. The regional workshop took place on June 22-23, 2016 in Almaty.
