This brief explains the INFORMED programme, an outcome of the partnership between FAO and the EU. The main purpose of the INFORMED programme is to substantially increase the resilience of vulnerable people’s livelihoods to threats and crises and contribute to the reduction of food insecurity and malnutrition. This Programme is essentially designed to support the analytical work that should underpin resilience related programming. The focus will be on five main key areas for strengthening the lin ks and related relevance between analytical and programming efforts: I) Improve the quality and harmonization of food and nutrition security analysis; II) Improve the resilience related analytical tools; III) Strengthen resilience related relevant knowledge sharing mechanisms; IV) Improve the data sets underpinning food security and resilience analysis; V) Integrate existing food crises related information systems into one stop decision making tool.
