The Country gender spotlight Kyrgyzstan, is part of a series that puts a spotlight on countries, showcasing examples of initiatives that have improved the lives of rural people and empowered rural women. It highlights some of the good practices the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has carried out with the Government of Kyrgyzstan and other partners, to promote gender equality and build the resilience and economic empowerment of rural women. Some of the initiatives include building skills and knowledge for income generation, increasing women’s decision-making power and more. These examples show how FAO is working with rural women and men to boost agricultural production, improve their livelihoods and secure their nutritional and food security.
