Forestry is an integral part of agriculture and rural livelihoods in Nepal. This country outlook paper emphasizes the importance of community forestry in Nepal's masterplan for forestry development and envisages three main scenarios for forests in the future based on political developments - a new Nepal where conflicts are resolved; muddling through; or intensification of conflict.
