Au total, 22 échantillons d’abeilles ont été constitués suivant les critères de distinction des apiculteurs interviewés et ont été soumis à l’identification au Centre de Contrôle Biologique pour l’Afrique (BCCA) de l’Institut International d’Agriculture Tropical (IITA). Tous les échantillons ont été conservés dans de l’alcool dilué à 50 % suivi d’un bordereau d’envoi avant d’être acheminés au laboratoire. De l’analysedes résultats et malgré la différence qui existe au niveau de la couleur, de l’agressivité et de la taille, il ressort clairement que dans les ruches du Nord-Bénin les abeilles mellifères sont toutes Apis mellifera/mellifica adansonii.
A total of 22 honeybees samples are collected according to the interviewed honeybee farmers criteria distinction and are identified in Biologic control Centre for Africa (BCCA) in IITA (Benin). The samples are kept in alcohol reduced at 50 %. From the results analysis and despite the difference which existsat the level of the colour, the aggressiveness and the thickness, it appears clearly that in all the honey hives in Northern Bénin honeybees are all Apis mellifera/mellifica adansonii.
