| dc.description | The global surge in demand for aquatic food presents challenges to the sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture sectors, impacting ecosystems and resources. Issues such as overfishing, weak regulations and environmental threats persist, particularly in the Global South. The rapid growth of aquaculture, while meeting food demand, brings concerns of habitat degradation, disease outbreaks and environmental impact, a situation further exacerbated by climate change. In response, the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries (MOF) of the Republic of Korea collaborated with FAO, initiating a project to enhance the sustainability of fisheries and aquaculture. | |
