This experiment was conducted to study the effect of: (1) melengestrol acetate (MGA), a newly developed orally-active progestogen agent; (2) diethylstilbestrol (DES), an estrogenic substance, and (3) nitrated grass vs. clover-grass pastures on performance, carcass characteristics and certain reproductive phenomena in beef heifers self-fed a grain-fat mixture on pasture.
