Sustainable consumption and production (SCP) is one of the most cost-efficient and effective ways of achieving economic development, reducing the impact on the environment and advancing human wellbeing. SDG12 is, therefore, a key enabler in the implementation of a range of other goals, but its transversal nature has resulted in fragmented and piecemeal initiatives. The One Planet Multi-Partner Trust Fund on SDG12 is a collaborative approach between FAO, UN Environment, the UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), UN-Habitat and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), supported by the UN Multi-Partner Trust Fund (MPTF) Office, to strengthen cohesion and coordination, broaden the contributor base, and to provide better incentives for collaboration within the UN development system. The MPTF will support the implementation of the 10-year framework of programmes on sustainable consumption and production patterns, including its programme on sustainable food systems.
