Longsheng Longji Terraces, Guangxi, China, received its name because the terraced fields resemble a dragon's scales, while the summit of the mountain range looks like the backbone of the dragon. It is a priceless legacy inherited from the forefathers of Zhuang and Yao peoples who applied the traditional Chinese philosophical conception of "unity of heaven and earth" together with their wisdom and talents to the mountainous areas to create wonders. As a "living specimen" representing how the anci ents adapted to and made use of the nature, and a mountain area use system with a good ecological environment and high economic value, it can be called a typical example of important agricultural achievement highlighting the harmonious development of man and the nature.
