| dc.description | Despite the floods, cereal prices remained stable in July and August. Wheat and wheat flour prices have risen in September in major markets of affected areas; The worst floods in history have hit Pakistan in July causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis where extensive damages were caused to livelihoods, agriculture, livestock and infrastructure; Approximately 10 million people are in need of livelihood assistance, food aid and shelter; Agencies estimate a severe food security situation an d an alarming hunger problem in the long term; Government is supporting the flood affected population with the help of international agencies through emergency interventions. | |
