Descripción

Through its Emergency and Early Recovery Response Plan for 2026–2028, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is targeting 239 844 rural families and small-scale farmers affected by the ongoing war. With a total funding requirement of USD 193 million, the plan combines urgent agricultural support with early recovery measures to help sustain food production and rural livelihoods. During the first half of 2026, FAO has supported over 11 000 rural families with seed potatoes, vegetable seeds, young poultry, cash and voucher assistance, including support for animal feed and fuelwood. In parallel, more than 600 farmers received agricultural input vouchers for sowing campaigns and mine action-related recovery, modular storage units, and grant support for farm development. This assistance helped them maintain production, safely store harvested grain, invest in value chains and resume agricultural activities in affected areas.
