FAO updates the employment indicators in FAOSTAT each year, using data from the International Labour Organization (ILO) ILOSTAT database that contains a rich set of indicators from a wide range of topics related to labour statistics. FAOSTAT disseminates eight indicators on employment in agrifood systems (AFS) for the 2000–2023 period at the country, regional and global levels. In the 2026 update, the domain was further enhanced with the inclusion of sex-disaggregated AFS indicators and two additional indicators on the female share of AFS employment.
