dc.descriptionThe growth of contract production in certain types of farming is noted, and the main implications of this form of business organization for on-farm decision-making and capital acquisition are identified. The purposes of contracting, from both processor firm and farm viewpoints are discussed, and the broiler industry is used to illustrate the development of contracting.
