The aim of this factsheet is to present the stakeholder engagement activities implemented in the frames of the North Macedonia’s first Green Climate Fund Readiness and Preparatory Support Project “Support for the management of an effective national coordinative mechanism regarding the Green Climate Fund” implemented in 2019 by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under guidance and leadership of the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, as National Designated Authority (NDA) to the GCF.
The Project engaged all relevant stakeholders in consultative processes aiming at prioritization of North Macedonia’s strategic climate investments for GCF funding. This also involved engagement of the private sector in the implementation of project/programme ideas, as well as consideration of the Environmental and Social Risk Management Tools according the GCF’s Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS) and gender aspects. The consultation with relevant stakeholders aimed to ensure that chosen GCF priorities are fully aligned with the national plans and strategies and other on-going efforts at national level. National consultations were conducted through consultation events engaging all relevant stakeholders, including national institutions, private sector, civil society, academia and international organizations.
This factsheet was jointly developed by the Cabinet of the Deputy President of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia in charge of Economic Affairs, in its role as NDA to GCF and FAO.
This factsheet is available in English, Macedonian and Albanian language.
