Country Case Studies Volumes 1 and 2 present eleven studies of field projects which highlight efforts to incorporate gender and participatory issues into agricultural development planning. They illustrate how gender information can make its way from the field to national planners and project designers, increasing effectiveness and efficiency of development projects. Each case study includes gender-specific information on the agro-economic and socio-cultural context within which the project takes place. It describes the methodologies, tools and training approaches used during the project. The conclusions focus on lessons learned. VOLUME 1 contains case studies from Latin America and Asia: Costa Rica, Honduras, Afghanistan, India, Nepal and Pakistan. VOLUME 2 contains case studies from Africa and the Near East: Ethiopia, Namibia, Senegal, Tunisia and the United Republic of Tanzania.
