The paper focuses on the role of agricultural consulting in supporting environmental programs in farms of the Kujawy-Pomerania province. It analyzes the universality of implementation of the packages of sustainable agriculture (SA), as well as soil and water protection (SaWP) of the environmental management scheme (EMS) in the years 2004-2015. The analysis showed a little interest of farmers in the discussed environmental management activities. The tendency of farmers to participate in agricultural schemes of the CAP depends primarily on their impact on costs, revenues and earnings, as a result. Consulting services can reduce the transfer costs and encourage to use the instruments that affect the environment. The studies showed, however, that the lack of knowledge and skills to estimate the economic impact of the implementation of specific environmental packages in each group of farms, as well production and environmental motivation of farmers hinder effective consulting and efficient implementation of environmental programs.
