dc.descriptionSince 2006, the Maasai landowners are paid US$ 41/ha/year (in 2011) by a consortium of five commercial tourism operators, to voluntarily relocate their  settlements and exclude livestock grazing inside the Olare Orok Conservancy (OOC), Conservancy, which is exclusively reserved for high-end wildlife tourism.
