The Niger continues to be affected by five major crises. In 2018, it is critical to restore the livelihoods of vulnerable affected populations by providing them with agricultural and livestock support to restore production and their access to food. As the significant forage deficit in certain areas of the country will translate into increased food insecurity and malnutrition rates, supporting livestock production – often the only source of livelihood for pastoralists – is essential.
