In Cameroon, the Far North region is grappling with a worsening multidimensional crisis – climatic, humanitarian and security-related – that severely undermines peoples' food security. In response, the European Union has provided EUR 2.95 million in funding to FAO's project entitled: “Reducing humanitarian needs in the Far North by scaling up anticipatory actions”. The project will run until 30 June 2026 and aims to reduce vulnerability and improve the livelihoods of rural communities by enhancing coordination and strengthening local governance mechanisms for preparedness and anticipatory response.
