dc.descriptionThe Pelagic Fishery Project was established in response to an official request made by the Government of India to the United Nations Development Programme(Special Fund) in July 1967. The broad national objective of the project was to facilitate the development of the fishing industry by gaining a more steady yield from the presumbly rich fish resources in the area.
