The paper presents the results of a study aimed at determining the impact of supplier’s sector and its
technology level on innovation activity of the food industry in western Poland in the years 2009-2012. It is
assumed that the higher technology level and variety of suppliers the greater innovation activity. The survey
shows that the greatest number of relationships is associated with manufacture of rubber and plastic products
sector whereas the greatest positive influence concerns innovative cooperation.
