The FAO, funded by Sida, started implementing gender and HIV projects in 2004; the project under consideration “Addressing HIV and Gender Inequities through a Food Security and Nutrition Response in Eastern and Central Africa” (OSRO/RAF/010/SWE), is building on the preceding projects and is implemented in Burundi, CAR, DR Congo, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.
