The Imagine ESG Foundation (IEF), in partnership with the Mozambican Association of Filmmakers (AMOCINE), funded by the French Agricultural Research and Cooperation Organization (CIRAD), carried out a one-month project focused on community engagement in the Mozambican Limpopo National Park (LNP), Gaza Province, through participatory mobile cinema. The project 'Reducing Health Risks Through Animal-Human Transmission in Mozambique’s National Parks – Awareness Raising through Mobile Cinema (CINEMARENA)' aimed to complement CIRAD’s engagement with the Limpopo National Park Administration, district health and veterinary authorities as well as local communities to reduce health risks related to the transmission of diseases from wildlife to humans and to preserve wildlife while not endangering the local populations’ safety. With a total budget of EUR 18 922, the project carried out a mobile cinema campaign in the target district of Massingir and Mabalane in Gaza Province, in partnership with the LNP Administration and local authorities to promote messages about the risks of transmission of disease from wild and domestic animals to humans, the One Health System and the necessity of early reporting.
