Resumen

Descripción

Rapid urbanization has led to an unprecedented increase in demand for food and basic services, posing major infrastructural, social, environmental and economic challenges for local administrations. The expansion of cities creates increased demand for the same land and water that provide vital food and ecosystem services. The food supply chain is dominated by inefficiencies and limited access to market for local smallholders. This programme aims to build and promote sustainable, climate-resilient and low-emission food production and marketing to fight food insecurity and malnutrition by strengthening short supply chains.
