dc.descriptionFAO has developed a project in closecollaboration with the governments of the Cook Islands,the Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, theMarshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga andVanuatu to deliver tailored technical assistance toreinforce the CTF objectives and help bridgetechnical gaps, supporting stronger National CodexCommittees (NCC) and more resilient national foodcontrol systems. Such collaboration constitutes a keycontribution to advancing national agrifood systemstransformation agendas. The project contributed to strengthening nationalcapacities in Samoa, Tonga, Fiji and the Marshall Islandsto address food safety issues, thereby supporting effortsto improve food security. Specifically, the projectenhanced awareness of the functions, vision, strategicgoals and priorities of the Codex Alimentarius.The project has contributed meaningfully to severalSustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligning withbroader national objectives for sustainable development.
