Between 2 and 30 December 2025, following a request made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation (MoA&I), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Food Security Technical Secretariat (FSTS), in close collaboration with the Ministry of Animal Resources and Fishery (MoAR&F) and the State Ministries of Production and Economic Resources, carried out an annual Crop and Food Supply Assessment Mission (CFSAM) to determine 2025/26 crop production levels in the Sudan and the food supply situation throughout the 18 states of the country. The report’s recommendations are to provide immediate response to the needs of the population most affected by acute food insecurity, as well as to support recovery of the agriculture sector, increasing food production and farmers’ income, and enhancing efficiency along value chain to reduce production costs.
