Descripción
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea has rich inland open water resources for production of freshwater fish, which is a greatly needed animal protein source for the population. However, there were no adequately developed technologies for effective fish production in lakes and rivers and the country lacked the capacity to produce needed quality inputs. The project brought together various stakeholders to create the necessary preconditions for a sustainable and responsible inland cage fish culture. With the support of the Government, the project was able to expand on key structures and develop workers' and technicians' abilities to strengthen the Government's efforts of providing food security to its people.
