Nearly the entire population of Gaza is experiencing high levels of acute food insecurity, and acute malnutrition among children under 5 years of age has reached unprecedented levels. At the same time, hundreds of thousands in the West Bank are in urgent need of food security assistance. In line with the 2025 Flash Appeal, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) is scaling up its emergency response to enable agriculture-dependent communities in Gaza to rapidly restore their livelihoods and the production of nutritious and perishable foods, while strengthening the resilience of affected communities in the West Bank. To deliver the planned response, FAO seeks USD 56 million to support 140 000 people in Gaza, and 18.5 million to support 14 000 people in the West Bank. This document provides an overview of the impact of the crisis on agricultural livelihoods and food security as well as FAO's planned response and funding requirements.
