This document is the final version of the report of the Fifth Session of the Western Central Atlantic Fi shery Commission (WECAFC) held in Castrie s , St . Lucia, from 17 to 19 July 1985. Major topics discussed during the Session were the state of fisheries in the WECAFC are a , management and development of fisheries in the Lesser Antilles region , follow-up to the FAO World Conference on Fisheries Management and Development and cooperation with other organizations concerned with fisherie s in the region. A list of the main recommendations of the Session is included as Appendix F.
