Wheat prices have risen in recent months after a steady decline for two consecutive years. Insecurity and violence have continued while the country has also faced severe flooding. According to GIEWS and FEWSNET the country continues to experience localized high levels of food insecurity due to ongoing clashes and rising food prices. The Government is supporting domestic production while securing grain stocks to assist consumers and vulnerable people in case of emergencies.
