The Republic of South Sudan, situated in Eastern Africa, has an estimated GDP of $12.81 billion and a population of approximately 12.5 million people. This Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) report focuses on a sub-project involving the construction of a 10km road within the Aweil Rice Irrigation Scheme. This sub-project falls under the Building Resilience for Food and Nutrition Security in the Horn of Africa (BREFONS) initiative, funded by the African Development Bank and implemented in the Eastern Equatorial State and Northern El Bhal Ghazal states. The total cost for rehabilitating the 10km road is $422,500.00 USD, and the project is scheduled to be completed within two months.
