Mali continues to face a protracted food and nutrition crisis, fueled by persistent insecurity, forced displacement,deteriorating livelihoods and recurring climate shocks. The most affected areas are the northern regions, particularly Gao, where the combined impact of insecurity, internal displacement, and access constraints to agricultural land and markets continues to weaken agropastoral households.In response, the Government of Belgium contributed USD 800 000 to the Food and Agriculture Organization ofthe United Nations (FAO), through the Special Fund for Emergency and Resilience Activities (SFERA). The intervention aims to support vulnerable households in Gao through an integrated approach, to save lives, improve food security and nutrition, and strengthen resilience.
