dc.descriptionArgentina is an important world producer and exporter of soybeans, maize and wheat and certain other agricultural products. This study examines the cropping systems in the different regions of the country. The reasons for an extraordinary increase in fertilizer use in the first half of the 1990s are analysed. The supply, distribution and economics as well as the research and advisory infrastructure for fertilizers are described. Constraints to increased fertilizer consumption and factors affecti ng the outlook for fertilizer demand are considered.
