Agricultural activities cover more than 75 percent of the country and land fragmentation is one of the major constraints for the implementation of sustainable and climate smart agricultural practices. Drought and soil loss due to extensive landslides, wind erosion and degradation of fertility threaten soil productivity, as well as agricultural economy and the livelihood of the rural population in the Republic of Moldova.
